Ms. English joined Hospice Partners in late 2011. Previously Ms. English was COO of CareSouth, a multi-state Home Health Care organization. Prior to joining CareSouth, she served as Vice President of Operations for SouthernCare, Inc., one of the nation’s largest hospice organizations overseeing 95 locations in 14 states.
Ms. English has more than 25 years of varied healthcare management experience including roles as COO of NurseMatrix.com, and Vice President/Senior Vice President of Operations for two publicly traded multi-state physician practice organizations.
Norma received her Bachelors of Nursing and Masters of Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
We have a strong commitment to meeting and exceeding the needs of our patients and their families – whether it is through the use of complementary therapies (music, massage therapy, pet therapy, etc.) or granting a special patient wish. We focus on “The most important thing” we can do for our patient during each visit!
Julie Ford, RN, BSN
Vice President Education & Compliance
Ms. Ford joined Hospice Partners in late 2015. A Registered Nurse with more than 18 years experience, Ms. Ford has served in both local and corporate leadership roles focusing on both hospice and home health as Director of Nursing, Regional Clinical Director, and Director of Education and Clinical Resource. As Director of Education at SouthernCare, Inc., Ms. Ford supervised a multidisciplinary team providing training and education for more than 1,500 hospice employees in 13 states on topics such as regulatory compliance and best practices in hospice care. During her tenure, SouthernCare’s education team was awarded American Nurse Credentialing Commission (ANCC) Accreditation with Distinction by demonstrating quality and excellence in curriculum design and delivery of continuing nursing education.
At Hospice Partners Ms. Ford’s responsibilities include regulatory compliance, licensure and certification, accreditation, staff and community education and quality assurance activities. Ms. Ford’s team works diligently to ensure that each patient and family at HPA received quality care based on best practices and a solid regulatory foundation.
Ms. Ford began her nursing career as a graduate of Troy University’s School of Nursing in Montgomery, Alabama and went on to receive her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Having dedicated the majority of my career in nursing to hospice care, I have had the opportunity to witness the truly wonderful services hospice staff provide every day. To these caring professionals (nurses, social workers, aides, chaplains and physicians) hospice care is more than a career. It is a life’s mission to ensure comfort for dying, grant wishes during the last months of life, and provide compassion and support for loved-ones experiencing loss. I consider it an honor to be given the opportunity to support the caring individuals who provide such an important service every day.
Deborah Stern, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Stern joined HPA in 2012. She began her career as a staff accountant in publishing at Oxmoor House, a division of Time, Inc. She has more than twenty years of experience in financial management and accounting. She has served as CFO, Vice President and Controller, and Staff Accountant. She has provided financial management for companies in the areas of publishing, software development, finance and health care. She has over six years of financial management in hospice. She has experience working with both small family owned businesses and publicly traded companies.
Deborah graduated from University of Alabama at Birmingham with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and later earned her CPA.
I have had the amazing opportunity to be a part of a hospice organization for six years. I feel I am truly blessed to work with such extraordinary individuals that dedicate their lives to caring and supporting individuals in such a difficult time. The care, dignity and compassion that the nurses, aides, chaplains and social workers provide to each and every patient and their families is heartwarming. What I have learned over six years is that this is not a job to these individuals, it is a calling. Hospice is such a wonderful service for the patients and their families. The comfort and guidance provided by hospice is invaluable. Having been a family member of a hospice patient, I have had the experience firsthand to see how wonderful this service is and now I am fortunate enough to support those who directly provide care to patients.
Vice President of Sales
Mr. Perkins joined HPA in 2015. He brings more than 25 years of executive healthcare management experience. Previously he was an Executive with Hospice of New Jersey, Vice President for Gentiva, Inc., and Vice President for the Bon Secours Hospital Health System in Richmond, VA.
Brad received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Marshall University, and is highly experienced in working for large privately held companies, hospital health systems and publicly traded national companies.
His team is responsible for expanding the HPA footprint across the country and for increasing the number of patients served. He is also responsible for leading the Marketing Department, Directors of Healthcare Partnerships and all Community Liaisons across the country. His focus is on building relationships with healthcare providers and educating communities on the benefits of Hospice. With 20 years of acquisition experience, Brad and his team will also lead activities related to acquiring additional hospice agencies.
